Acceptance and Submission Guidelines

(A) The first stage: abstract review

1. Deadline for abstract submission: before 24:00 on May 31, 2023 (Wednesday).

2. Announcement and notification of abstract review results: June 12, 2023 (Monday).

3. Please prepare all the materials before the above deadline and send them electronically to yses974124@gmail.com. Please mark the subject as "Abstract of Papers of the 23rd International Symposium of Penghu Studies in 2023", and please mark the name of the abstract file: "Phase 1__subtitle__paper name__author" to facilitate reviewing. The instructions for abstract submission are as follows:

(1) Please fill in the "Appendix 1, Submission Application Form".

(2) Abstracts in Chinese and English, each with 500 words as the principle (including research questions, research purposes, research methods and research findings).

(3) The number of keywords is limited to 5.

(4) No registration fee for contributors.

(5) Contributors will complete the submission process when they receive the email reply letter from the symposium organizing committee. If you have not received it, please call to confirm.

4. Review and announcement: The symposium preparatory committee will send relevant experts and scholars to conduct two-way anonymous abstract review. Results of the review will be notified by email on June 12, 2023 (Monday).

(B) The second stage: full-text review

1. Deadline for full-text submissions: before 24:00 on August 14, 2023 (Monday).

2. Announcement and notification of full-text review results: August 31, 2023 (Thursday).

3. Only the full text of the paper is accepted by email. Please send the full text to the e-mail address yses974124@gmail.com. Overdue will be deemed as a waiver. Please mark the subject of the letter as "2023 Penghu Studies 23rd International Symposium Paper Full Text" , please indicate the full document name: "Phase 2__subtitle__paper name__author" to facilitate reviewing. Instructions for full-text submissions are as follows:

(1) Papers can be written in either Chinese or English, and must not be published.

(2) In principle, the word count of the paper should not exceed 20,000 words. For the format of the full text of the paper, please refer to "Appendix 2, Full Paper Writing Format".

4. Review and announcement: The symposium preparatory committee will send relevant experts and scholars to review the full text of the paper. Results of the examination will be notified by email on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

1. The deadline for receiving the full text (including abstracts in Chinese and English): before 24:00 on September 11, 2023 (Monday).

2. Only the full text of the publication is accepted by email. Please send the full text (including Chinese and English abstracts) to the email address yses974124@gmail.com. Please mark the subject as "2023 The 23rd International Academic Symposium on Penghu Studies" and the full file name of the paper: "The third stage__subtitle__paper name__author" to facilitate the compilation and printing of the conference manual.

3. Please fill in the "Appendix 3, Basic Information Form of the Author", and send the hard copy to the Museum Section of the Cultural Bureau of Penghu County Government (Ms. Mark "Phase III__Author Basic Information Form" on the envelope, and use the postmark as evidence.

(D) The fourth stage: paper publication briefing file

1. Deadline for receipt of paper publication briefing file: before 24:00 on September 18, 2023 (Monday).

2. It is only acceptable to submit the presentation file of the paper by email. If the file is too large, this is not the case, and it can be sent by CD-ROM. Please send presentation files to yses974124@gmail.com. Please mark the subject as "2023 Penghu Studies 23rd International Symposium paper presentation file", and the file name of the presentation file should be marked: "Phase 4__subtitle__paper name__author". At least one of the authors should present at the seminar for oral presentation.

3. The organizer will subsidize transportation expenses (round-trip air tickets) and accommodation (2 nights) for the aforementioned oral presenters.

(E) The fifth stage: collection and publication of papers

1. Deadline for submission of finished papers: before 24:00 on November 30, 2023 (Thursday).

2. The oral publication of the thesis has been approved by the review committee and included in the "2023 Penghu Studies 23rd International Symposium - International Exchange Papers on Marine Cultural Heritage", and an additional manuscript fee will be paid.

3. Please sign the "Appendix 4, Copyright Authorization Agreement", and please sign and seal in person to facilitate the publication of the thesis collection. Please mail the hard copy to the Museum Section of the Cultural Bureau of Penghu County Government within the above-mentioned period (Ms. Xu Wanting / 880 No. 327, Xinsheng Road, Magong City, Penghu County / 06-9210405 extension 6412), and mark the envelope with "The fifth stage__copyright authorization consent". By postmark.
