Objectives
In order to promote the uniqueness and importance of the Shihu Group's heritage in our county internationally, we hope to strengthen the exchange between our county and Taiwan's local cities and international friends through international academic seminars, in order to draw on potential experience in management, maintenance, operation, and marketing, thereby consolidating our county's cultural tourism resources, enhancing cultural governance experience, and stimulating the marketing efficiency of the Shihu Group's world heritage potential.
The theme of this seminar is "2023 Penghu University 23rd International Academic Symposium - International Exchange of Marine Cultural Heritage", and the following four sub topics are the scope of the submission.
1. Underwater cultural assets - Shihu and sunken ships: Under the vast waters of Penghu, there are abundant and diverse underwater cultural relics, namely Shihu and sunken ships, which are an extremely important historical and cultural treasure trove. This sub topic will explore the origin and distribution, construction conditions, types, fishing, skills, values, community relationships, etc. of Shihu at home and abroad, and discuss future preservation, maintenance, and sustainable development, laying the foundation for applying for registration as a World Heritage site; And explore topics such as archaeology, investigation, discovery, research, maintenance, and preservation of sunken ships in Penghu waters.
2. Marine settlements, lighthouses, and stone culture: The marine culture of Penghu nurtures a unique cultural atmosphere, and the historical culture derived from it has accumulated quite unique local characteristics, which are specifically manifested in the changes of human settlement, life, culture, and religious activities. This sub question will comprehensively and broadly explore the development patterns of natural environment and cultural history in different stages of marine settlements, and further focus on reflecting on the current and future development models and key elements of marine settlements in China, establishing a cultural brand of Penghu marine settlements, driving sustainable development as an environmental model, and optimizing local creation.
3. International Exchange and Education of Cultural Assets, Integration of Bilingual Applications: In order to encourage academic research on cultural assets, enhance Chinese people's understanding of international experience and development trends in cultural asset preservation, establish international relations, and promote public attention to the sustainable development of Penghu's oceans, while gradually implementing the vision of bilingual education in this county, this sub topic will focus on marine education and promotion, marine education and marine creational activities Bilingual promotion and international education issues create new opportunities for international exchange of cultural assets in this county, and create a new situation for the international development of marine education.
4. Sustainable development of the ocean and digital innovation, net zero action: We will focus on research topics such as sustainable development, ocean creation, marine industry, digital innovation, and net zero action. We will further focus on creating low-carbon lifestyles to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and attach importance to the inheritance and preservation of marine life and cultural traditions.
